Hi and welcome to the weekend. As you read this I’ll be beside the seaside on the hunt for some lovely seafood and maybe even fish and chips.
Now to this week’s book, Essential Gluten Free by one of my favourite chefs, Phil Vickery. This book is not about Michelin-star food, but about showing how gluten-free cooking can be exciting and tasty, with the added benefit of making you feel and look better. Phil shows how you can eat all your favourites on a gluten-free diet, such as pizza, bread, pasta, cakes and biscuits.

So here we go my friends, it’s the weekend and the best time to start thinking about my favourite thing – food! Yes, food to cook and enjoy with our family and friends.
Saturday is the perfect day to go to markets such as Billingsgate fish market if you are in London.
Fish that is coming into season now includes cod, pollock and haddock so I’ll be keeping an eye out for those varieties and maybe even some queen scallops.
But now to this week’s book, The Love & Lemons Cookbook by Jeanine Donofrio, which is all about vegetables. The book covers recipes including aubergine and mushroom “meatballs”, veggie ceviche, and double chocolate courgette muffins.
However, I have chosen two soups to share with you today which are ideal for vegetarians and vegans. But meat eaters should give them a try, too!
