Mary Berry classics: Beef stew and chocolate cheesecake

Hello food lovers. I have another book from the legendary Mary Berry for you this week. I was only 10 years old when Mary published her first recipe book, at the very start of my cooking career.

I love that Mary Berry’s recipes are very approachable, using everyday ingredients just with an imaginative twist to make the meal extra special. It is reminiscent of the first meals I would make, home-made pasta and gnocchi using fresh vegetables to create different flavours with the sauce. Mary has written more than...

Ciao from Abruzzo! It’s wonderful to be home in Italy for the weekend, where I am hosting a cookery masterclass and taking my guests around the local markets and vineyards. We are staying in the beautiful town of Pescara with views out to the Adriatic Sea. There really is no better setting to sit and enjoy Italian food in.

Here we are firmly into spring and the daffodils are in full bloom in our gardens. It’s a busy month for me.

I’m now gearing up for the first of my new cookery courses back home in the beautiful Abruzzo region which take place at the end of the month.

Hello readers and welcome to the weekend. So the countdown to Christmas has truly begun! I love this time of year as there is such a buzz in the restaurants, whether it’s people stopping in for lunch during their Christmas shopping or comingin for a bite before a panto.

This week’s recipes are by the Hairy Bikers, Si King and Dave Myers. What I love about this cookbook is that it really does show how amazing chickens are and how much we rely on them for cooking, baking and eating. It covers a vast array of ideas, from simple soups and salads to pies, pasta and rice dishes – and there are some great ideas for making a little go a long way. The recipes I’ve picked are a simple family favourite and an impressive dessert.

Happy cooking!

Hello foodies and today’s column is all about the dreaded “d” word! Yes, diet!

Recently I was advised to cut sugar out of my diet. I have been working with the great team at the Healthy Food Guide. They have recommended that I eat smaller portions more often through the day and I use the Nutracheck app to keep me on track.

Hello readers, I hope you have all had a lovely week and are enjoying your weekend!

You know how much I love visiting a food market, and I was really spoilt this week when I visited Borough Market then got a sneak preview of the new Mercato Metropolitano which is opening in September in SoBo (South of Borough).

I also visited the new Padella restaurant on Borough High Street for pasta with my friend Clare Blampied OBE. Clare brought Sacla pesto sauce to the UK 25 years ago, so she knows her pasta.

TIRED of the same old dishes? Give your supper a Korean twist.

Hello. This week we are going to Korea thanks to chef Judy Joo, whose book we feature today.

I am delighted to see more Korean restaurants opening up in the UK. What I love about Korean dining is that it is sociable and communal.

Hi and welcome to my foodie world. This weekend I am planning a picnic with the kids, which will involve travelling to the south coast and stopping if we get hungry. I will take my little portable barbecue and hob, one small pan and a cool box to keep the meat chilled and of course some veg.

I do prepare some of it in advance, so I’ll part boil some short pasta and marinate some chicken in rosemary and lemon sea salt and maybe take some lamb chops soaked in oil and sun dried tomatoes.

Buongiorno friends, it’s the weekend again and it’s beautiful. I really love England in the summer as it gives us all the chance to spend more time cooking outdoors.

Ever since Etna Ovens built me a wood-burning oven, I haven’t stopped using it – for baking bread, pizza, focaccia, even my Sunday roast!

This week’s book by the winner of the third series of Bake Off, John Whaite, focuses more on cooking rather than traditional baking. It is called Perfect Plates In 5 Ingredients and it really is what is says on the tin: simple plates of food cooked in no time, with very little fuss.

Aldo Zilli's Easter Lamb Recipe

Aldo Zilli's Easter Lamb Recipe

COOKING for family on Easter Sunday? This seasonal Italian recipe is perfect for a special occasion.

It’s a delicious, comforting dish. It was Mamma's favourite and the first thing she taught me to make.
It's an off-the-bone lamb dish with a beautiful parmesan topping, and it's based on a stew Aldo's mother cooked regularly when he was a child.

“I remember Mamma would cook this fabulous lamb stew at this time of year. She would use potatoes and veg, lots of pecorino cheese, and lots of eggs from our chickens.

“It’s a delicious, comforting dish. It was Mamma's favourite and the first thing she taught me to make. She would make us all come together to eat it at the table, it was such a happy time.”

Aldo recommends serving the lamb dish with seasonal spring vegetables and a fruity red wine. It's ideal for a traditional Easter Sunday family gathering.

Hello and welcome to the weekend. My family and I will be treating ourselves to a shopping trip, and hopefully not just for the kids. I’m going to include a sneaky trip to Borough Market for some seasonal fruit and vegetables and some live lobster for my wife, Nikki. It’s her absolute favourite simply roasted with garlic butter and some chunky handmade chips.

This week’s book, Kitchen Mojo by Paul Mercurio, is packed with 120 easy recipes to sink your teeth into. This book is quite simply an inspiration to anyone who wants to get into the kitchen, and you can find delicious meals to cook to impress your family and friends. These include fig baked on feta with a three cheese sauce, a Mediterranean lobster stack with a herb vinaigrette and the lamb dish (opposite). So go on, get stuck in and good luck!
